Let’s Talk Non-Surgical Facelift…

As the years progress, there is a loss of volume in the face and the shape of the face changes.  From a youthful “U” shape, to a more squarish look that is associated with age.  The tissue sags, the wrinkles appear more pronounced, the nasolabial folds become more pronounced, and the jowels appear, as well as the hollows of the cheeks.  One of the non-surgical “facial rejuvenation” solutions to this aging problem has been the replenishment and replacement of the youthful facial features with the use of biocompatible tissue fillers.  The best results are obtained with autologous (your own) tissue, such as fat and PRP combination, a source of adult stem cells.

Stem cells are a renewable source of replacement cells and internal repair system.  They distinguish themselves from other cell types by renewing themselves through cell division, after periods of inactivity.  The primary role of adult stem cells are to maintain and repair the tissue in which there are found and or placed.  One source of adult stem cells is found in the bone marrow in the circulatory system.  We have been collecting blood samples of patients (1 to 2 ounces), and after centrifuge, we obtain their platelet rich plasma (PRP).  Platelet rich plasma or PRP is one of the sources of adult stem cells.  One of the other sources of adult stem cells is the adipose tissue (FAT) of the body.  By harvesting and combining both sources we have, the optimum solution for non-surgical facial rejuvenation.  This preparation is injected, and carefully placed into the areas of the cheeks, malar eminence and nasolabial folds.  The amount, and the placement the areas to obtain the most preferable youthful appearance varies with the facial architecture.
