Blepharoplasty – Eye Lid Surgery

Surgical and Non-surgical options for help in reversing frown lines.

Blepharoplasty – What is it?

Do your eyelids sag or feel heavy?   Of course, we’ve all felt that our eyelids are heavy and sagging from lack of sleep.  But, when sagging eyelids make you look older or are uncomfortable, blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid surgery, may be right for you.

Just like everything else on our body, as we get older, muscles around the eye become weaker and skin loses elasticity.  The thin eyelid skin will lose elasticity and begin to stretch, resulting in extra folds of skin that can hang down over the edge of the upper eyelids.  These extra folds can make the upper lid feel heavier and can possibly sit on top of your lashes.   Not only does aging have an effect on the upper eye, but also in the lower eyelids.  The muscles beneath our skin grow weaker and allow fat to protrude through, creating bags.  Fine wrinkle lines and creases appear in the delicate skin around the lids.  Any or all of these together can result in a tired, sleepy or sad look, leaving blepharoplasty as the solution in correcting the problem.   If only we could stop time and gravity from taking effect on our face and body…

Blepharoplasty continues to grow each year. The procedure corrects drooping upper eyelids and puffy bags below the eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle.  Blepharoplasty goes a long way in restoring a youthful appearance with minimal cost, risk and recovery time. In fact, many people choose blepharoplasty over a complete facelift.
